Following in the footsteps of his father who also played for italy, Christian Vieri scored italy`s 1000th goal on his international debut in 1997. Since then has built up a formidable reputation as one of italy`s top strikers, who is capable of scoring with both feet.
Born in bologna in july 1973, Vieri played for several clubs in his youth, before breaking through into the big time in torino, scorig eight goals during Juventus` 1997/1998 campaign. Vieri then moved on to spain where he scored 24 goals in 24 matches for Atletico De Madrid. This charismatic soccer player netted five goals for italy in the 1998 world cup campaign, and also scored four out of the five goals in the 2002 world cup.
