The album's got a much rootsier feel than bigger-label gospel recordings of this nature - recorded live, apparently without much in the way of editing - as a very cool, very raw guitarist spurs on the energy of the performance, augmenting Holmes' words at first, but then really taking off as the whole thing moves along, especially as lots of other voices come into play!
This fully licensed release, which is part of the Knight Foundation-supported 'Detroit Gospel Reissue Project', is limited to 450 copies on 150-gram vinyl, including a two-sided info sheet.
