Recorded in Houston in 1954 and released on the NY-based Herald label, these classic recordings of Hopkins feature him on amplified guitar with bass and drums. These are not the folk-blues songs as often associated with Hopkins, but what we have here is a delivery of raw and glorious RnB tinged blues recordings.
