JERRELLS
"Challenger for the best new album of the year. It's an absolute steamer which will thrill all 'billies. Brilliant.
The title track, "Hot Sauce Mama", and "All Out Of Kisses" are great rockabillies while "True Love" starts off like Gene Vincent's "Cruisin'". They take Lloyd McCullough's "Half My Fault" and Gene Terry's "The Woman I Love" up a couple of gears to great effect and give "Ice Water" the energy it deserves. "Frazer River Valley Blues" is a hillbilly bopper with fiddle and great bass.
"Don't Stall Out" is a hard-driving rocker with two ferocious guitar solos. It reminds of Ronnie Hayward at his best.
"Hot Rod Baby" has a Cramps feel with another relentless beat and a commercial edge thanks to backing vocals before "Armadillo Blues" closes out the set."
