LAURIE JOHNSON
One of the finest British composers of cult TV series themes, Laurie Johnson was also in his early years one of the most highly regarded arrangers for swing big bands. From 1959 on, though, he began composing mainly for TV and cinema and his resume includes classic cult themes from No Hiding Place, Top Secret, The Deputy (starring Henry Fonda) The Avengers, Shirley MacLaines Shirleys World, The New Avengers and The Professionals, these last two shows produced by his own independent TV company created in 1974 with Brian Clemens and Albert Fennell. This compilation includes all of the best tracks from the above-mentioned series in a very elegant gatefold album release.
