GOSPEL PIMPS
The Gospel Pimps are the Alter Ego of Germanys well Known and Respected THE JUKE JOINT PIMPS, instead of focusing themselves to the Rawside of Chicagos Rhythm'n Blues are from the late 40s early 50s the Gospel Pimps got inspired by the RAW POWER of Early Black Louisiana Gospel Singing Groups, they even invited a gospel choir into the Studio to record some of the songs.
The band got inspired as well trough the PEACOCK and the SAVOY catalogue bands such as THE STAPLE SINGERS, FIVE BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA or even the early GOLDEN GATE QUARTET are big influence in their recordings.
Kaum eine US-amerikanische Band schafft es heutzutage noch den rauhen Sound aus der frühen Zeit der Chicago Blues Legenden rüberzubringen, welche damals als erste auf die elektrisch verstärkte Gitarre setzten. Umso verwunderlicher ist es, daß dieses Duo aus dem Rheinland soviel Gespür für diese fast unnachahmliche Art von Musik mitbringt.
Brillante Gitarrenarbeit, grandioses Mundharmonikaspiel und stimmgewaltigen Gesang geradezu pechschwarz klingen, bieten dazu noch einen extrem wuchtigen auf den Punkt gebrachte Schlagzeugrhythmus.
Authentischer und rauher als alles andere was in den letzten Jahren aus dieser musikalischen Ecke kam.
